Hitmen Acquire Goaltender Nick Sanders From The Prince Albert Raiders

The Calgary Hitmen Hockey Club today announced they have acquired 19-year-old goaltender Nick Sanders from the Prince Albert Raiders in exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2019 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.

“With 67 games of WHL experience we feel Nick can not only help us push for a playoff spot this season but audition to be one of our three overages next year,” said Hitmen general manager Jeff Chynoweth.

This trade is a homecoming for Sanders, returning to the city where he played his minor hockey.  The graduate of the AAA Bantam Bisons and AAA Midget Buffaloes was originally selected by the Tri-City Americans in the sixth round of the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft.  He was then dealt to Prince Albert in October of 2016.
