The Calgary Hitmen Hockey Club today announced they have acquired a sixth-round pick in the 2019 or 2020 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft from the Everett Silvertips in exchange for 18-year-old defenceman Jameson Murray.

“The Hitmen would like to thank Jameson for his time with the organization and wish him well in his future hockey endeavours,” said Hitmen general manager Jeff Chynoweth.

Murray was a protected list addition on Sept. 14, 2015.  He made his WHL debut with Calgary and played 63 career games over parts of two seasons.

Calgary returns to action tonight, Jan. 10 in Moose Jaw, the start of a three-game East Division road trip.  Radio broadcast on Sportsnet 960-The Fan begins at 6:00 p.m. MT.  The swing will also take the Hitmen to Brandon (Jan. 12) and Regina (Jan. 13).  Calgary returns home on Tuesday, Jan. 16, to host the Saskatoon Blades.  Game time is 7:00 p.m. at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
