The busy stretch continues.

The Hitmen take on the Brandon Wheat Kings, (6:30 p.m., WHL Live) for the second game of a three-game road trip.  The clash is the second game in a busy four day stretch that sees the club play three games in that span.

Wednesday marks the third of four regular season meetings against the Wheat Kings, with Brandon holding a 2-0 season series lead.  Jakob Stukel (3G, 1A) top the Hitmen with four points against Brandon. The Hitmen have gone 2-3-1-1 in their last seven visits to Brandon.

The first game of the road trip saw the Hitmen fall to the Moose Jaw Warriors 8-3 Wednesday night. Stukel scored twice to reach the 20 goal mark on the season, while Carson Focht scored his first as a member of the Hitmen.

Brandon meanwhile, saw their two-game winning streak snapped Tuesday night, losing to the Edmonton Oil Kings 3-2 in overtime. New faces Luka Burzan and Chase Hartje are expected to make their Wheat Kings debuts. Both were acquired from Warriors in a move that saw Kale Clague shipped to the top team in the WHL.

Despite riding a two-game skid, the Hitmen still find themselves within striking range for third in the Central Division, just seven points out of the spot.

The Hitmen will wrap up the road swing Saturday night when they take on a new look Regina Pats squad, before returning home on Jan. 16 to take on the Saskatoon Blades.
