It’s time to set the tone.

The Hitmen take on the Medicine Hat Tigers Friday night (7 p.m., Sportsnet 960 THE FAN, WHL Live) for the first of six meetings between the Central Division rivals.

Medicine Hat currently sits first in the Central Division with 20 points on the year. The Hitmen sit seven points back of them with 13.

Last year’s season series saw the Tigers win all six games by a combined score of 34-18. Matteo Gennaro (2 G, 6 A) led the Hitmen with eight points while Jakob Stukel (5 G, 2 A) and Beck Malenstyn (3 G, 4 A) both recorded seven against the Tigers.

The Hitmen are coming off back-to-back 6-3 wins over the Lethbridge Hurricanes last weekend in a home-and-home set and are looking for their first three game win streak of the season.

Hitmen vs Hurricanes Nov. 4

The Tigers find themselves on their own two-game winning streak defeating the Saskatoon Blades 7-2 on Nov. 3, and 4-3 overtime win over the Seattle Thunderbirds on Nov.4.

The rematch of Friday night’s game will go down the following night back in Medicine Hat.
