Moose Jaw, SK – Jaynen Rissling scored at 2:13 of overtime on a screened wrist shot from the blue line as the Calgary Hitmen beat the Moose Jaw Warriors 2-1 Sunday night at Mosaic Place.

The Warriors forced sudden death when Torrin White found the back of the net with 1:37 left in the third period.

Calgary had opened the scoring when Brooks Macek tallied his 11th goal of the season in the first period.

The win was Calgary’s third straight victory in as many days as they swept their East Division road trip outscoring their opponents by a combined 10-4.

Mack Shields made 25 saves to pick up the win as Moose Jaw outshot the Hitmen 26-25.

Calgary improves to 11-4-1-2 and takes over top spot in the Western Hockey League’s Eastern Conference with 25 points, one ahead of Prince Albert.

The Hitmen return to action Wednesday night at Scotiabank Saddledome to host the Warriors in the back half of the home and home series.  Game time is 7 p.m.  It also marks the start of a four game home stand for Calgary.
