Yeryomenko named to Team Belarus for 2017 IIHF U18 World Championship

The Calgary Hitmen Hockey Club would like to congratulate defenceman Vladislav Yeryomenko (Yair-oh-menko) on being named to Team Belarus for the 2017 IIHF U18 World Championship.

The 10-team tournament will be held in Poprad and Spisska Nova Ves, Slovakia, from April 13-23 and will see Belarus in Group B with Sweden, USA, Russia and Czech Republic.  Canada is in Group A with Finland, Slovakia, Switzerland and Latvia.

Yeryomenko just completed his debut season with the Hitmen after he was selected 46th overall in the 2016 CHL Import Draft.  He shared the RE/MAX Hitmen Rookie of the Year award with Andrei Grishakov and has been recognized by NHL Central Scouting as a prospect for the 2017 NHL Draft.

Yeryomenko and Team Belarus will play their tournament opener on April 13 against USA.

This past December Yeryomenko help Belarus win gold at the Division I Group A 2017 IIHF World U20 Championship.  He has also played for his country at the 2016 IIHF U18 World Championship and the 2015-16 Mac’s AAA Midget World Invitational Tournament in Calgary for the U17 Belarus National Team.
