HITMEN COMEBACK TO DEFEAT HURRICANES 3-2

The Calgary Hitmen were on the road in Lethbridge tonight to face the Hurricanes at ENMAX Centre. Down 2-0 early in the game, Calgary was able to come back securing a 3-2 victory over the home team.
Hayden Smith would net two for Lethbridge less than ten minutes apart in the first period to put Lethbridge up 2-0. On the power play, a goal from Sean Tschigerl was called off but would be made up for by Oliver Tulk at the half way mark of the period getting Calgary on the board. Tschigerl would follow up two minutes later to tie the game at two.
The second period remained scoreless, with Calgary continuing to outshoot Lethbridge heading into the final frame. Keagan Slaney would give the Calgary their first lead of the game with helpers from Tschigerl and Tulk at 8:34 which would prove to be the game winner.
Sean Tschigerl earned first star of the game with a goal and two assists while Oliver Tulk and Keagan Slaney finished the game with a goal and an assist each. With tonight’s win, the Hitmen move a step closer to securing their spot in the 2023 WHL playoffs sitting in seventh position with 68 points.
The Hitmen will close their 68-game regular season schedule this weekend with a pair of games against the Oil Kings. On Saturday, Mar 25 they make a stop in Edmonton at Rogers Place for a 2:00 p.m. start. Calgary will then play their finale at home on Sunday, Mar. 26 in a 1:00 p.m. puck drop on Fan Appreciation Day at Scotiabank Saddledome. The day will include the team player awards in a special pre-game presentation.
