CALGARY HITMEN CONFIRM 2022-23 REGULAR SEASON SCHEDULE AND VENUES

Calgary, AB – The Calgary Hitmen confirmed today their 2022-23 regular season schedule and venues. The Hitmen will begin their 28th Western Hockey League season with a home and home with Swift Current beginning on Friday, September 23 at the Innovation Credit Union i-plex. The team will then return home to the Scotiabank Saddledome where they will host Swift Current for their home opener. Game time on Saturday, September 24 is 7:00 p.m. MT.

The 2022-23 schedule will see Calgary play 68 games with 34 home and 34 on the road. Currently, 28 home games will be played at the Scotiabank Saddledome, and six will be played at Seven Chiefs Sportsplex on Tsuut’ina Nation. With Tsuut’ina Nation’s support and partnership, Seven Chiefs Sportsplex has served as a second home for the Calgary Hitmen including the 2020-2021 Covid bubble season. Seven Chiefs will also serve as host to Hitmen Training Camp at the beginning of September and the first pre-season game vs Red Deer on September 9th.

For the first time since the 2019-20 season, the WHL will see a return to inter-conference play. Calgary will welcome all five B.C Division teams to Calgary and will embark on a 10 day U.S Division road trip beginning with the Seattle Thunderbirds Saturday Nov. 12.

Schedule highlights include:

  • ENMAX Teddy Bear Toss – Sunday, December 4 vs. Moose Jaw (2:00 p.m. MT)
  • Every Child Matters – Saturday, February 4 vs Edmonton (2:00 p.m. MT)
  • TELUS BE BRAVE #EndBullying – Wednesday, February 22 vs Winnipeg (11:00 a.m. MT)
  • Bret ‘Hitman” Hart Game – Saturday, March 11 vs. Red Deer. (2:00 p.m. MT)

The always popular Sunday Funday returns this season as well along with a special ‘Forever a Hitmen’ ceremony to be held in the latter half of the season – information to be announced at a later date.

All Hitmen games will be broadcast live on Sportsnet 960-The Fan or online on the Alternate Stream at Sportsnet.ca/960.  Fans can also watch online with a paid subscription to WHL Live on CHL TV.

Ticketing information and complete broadcast schedule will be announced in September.
