The Calgary Hitmen Hockey Club would like to congratulate defenceman Vladislav Yeryomenko on receiving a tryout invite to Toronto Maple Leafs development camp.
The camp begins on Thursday, July 6 with medicals, while on-ice practice sessions will start Friday, July 7 at the MasterCard Centre for Hockey Excellence in Etobicoke, ON.
“This is a great opportunity for Vladislav and we as an organization are very excited for him,” said Hitmen assistant coach Trent Cassan. “He had a strong first season in Calgary and this invite is a reflection of the hard work he has put in.”
Yeryomenko is coming off an excellent debut season in the Western Hockey League. He finished the campaign fourth in WHL rookie defencemen scoring with 25 points in 62 games. As a result, Yeryomenko was co-winner of the Hitmen RE/MAX Rookie of Year award with Andrei Grishakov.
The 18-year-old Vitebsk, BY product also enjoyed success on the international stage. He won gold with Belarus at the Div. I Group A 2017 IIHF World U20 Championship and skated for his home country this past April at the 2017 IIHF U18 World Championship.
Yeryomenko, drafted by Calgary in the first round, 46 overall, in the 2017 CHL Import Draft, is expected to return to the Hitmen this fall and be a key member of the blueline.
