After a two-day break the Calgary Hitmen five-game U.S. road trip resumed tonight in Kennewick against the Tri-City Americans.
Riley Fiddler-Schultz opened up the game scoring off a dish from Zac Funk at 12:26 in the first. It was followed up by Oliver Tulk’s ninth of the year giving Calgary the two goal lead heading into the second period.
Tri-City was able to cut the lead in half at 7:37 in the second period by Jordan Gavin. Tri-City continued their momentum tying the game on the power play courtesy of Ethan Ernst. Tulk gave the lead back to Calgary in the third but it was quickly answered by Tyson Greenway, tying it up for Tri-City once again and ultimately pushing the game to extra minutes. Greenway would go on to score his second of the game and win it for Tri-City with 2:10 left in overtime.
Ethan Buenaventura made 33 saves in tonight’s match. Shots finished 39-27 in favour of Calgary.
Calgary will wrap up their five-game U.S. Division road trip tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 19 in Spokane against the Chiefs. The Hitmen will then enjoy a five-day break before returning to home ice on Friday, Nov. 25 against the Prince Albert Raiders. Game time at Scotiabank Saddledome is 7:00 p.m.
