HITMEN TRADE FORWARD MASON FINLEY TO OIL KINGS

Calgary, AB – The Calgary Hitmen have traded forward Mason Finley to the Edmonton Oil Kings in exchange for a conditional  eighth-round pick in the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft.

“With us carrying 17 forwards, we had to get down to a more manageable number as we start the regular season.” said General Manager Jeff Chynoweth, “Mason going to Edmonton gives him the opportunity to play a more prominent role with a great organization. We wish him nothing but the best and thank him for all of his contributions on and off the ice with the Calgary Hitmen.”

A product of Kelowna BC, the 2004-born forward was drafted by Calgary in the fifth round (101st overall) in the 2019 WHL Prospects Draft. Finley played one season for the Calgary Hitmen appearing in 40 games in the 2021-22 season registering 11 pts (2G,9A).

The regular season with begins Friday, Sept. 23rd with a home-and-home set with the Broncos in Swift current. The team then returns to the Scotiabank Saddledome for the home opener on Saturday Sept. 24th.  Tickets are available at HitmenHockey.com/Tickets.
