Calgary Hitmen 10 Kootenay Ice 0

Coleman, AB – The Calgary Hitmen wrapped up their WHL pre-season schedule Sunday afternoon with a 10-0 win over the Kootenay Ice in the Crowsnest Pass.

Justin Kirsch fired a hat trick and finished the game with the team high five points (3g 2a) while Mike Snider made 27 saves for the shutout.

Jimmy Bubnick and John Lawrence both scored twice for Calgary who built period leads of 4-0 and 7-0.

Greg Chase, Alex Gogolev and Jaynen Rissling added singles while Cody Sylvester and Brady Brassart both chipped in a pair of assists.

The win was Calgary’s fifth straight to finish the pre-season with a record of 5-1.

The Hitmen will open their 17th season in the Western Hockey League on Saturday night in Cranbrook against the Kootenay Ice.

The Adrenalin Source for Sports home opener goes Sunday, October 2nd at 2pm when the Hitmen again face the Ice, this time at Scotiabank Saddledome.
