Fazleev Signs

Calgary, AB – The Calgary Hitmen Hockey Club would like to congratulate forward Radel Fazleev (Rah-dell Fahz-LAY-ev) on signing an entry-level contract with the Philadelphia Flyers.

Fazleev, 19, was selected by the Flyers in the sixth round, 168th overall, in the 2014 NHL Draft.

The left winger just completed his second Western Hockey League season with the Hitmen, where he tallied career highs across the board, picking up 51 points (18g, 33a) in 71 games while posting a plus/minus rating of plus-23. He also had a terrific playoff run where he added 14 points (4g, 10a) in 17 games.“On behalf of the Calgary Hitmen organization, we are extremely proud of Radel in signing his first pro contract,” said Hitmen General Manager and Vice President of Business Operations Mike Moore. “It takes a lot of commitment to travel to North America from Russia to play hockey. The tremendous amount of work he has put in to improve his game and adapt to Canadian culture, particularly learning a new language, is a testament of the strength of his character. We expect Radel to be a critical piece of our success in the 2015-16 season.”

A native of Kazan, Russia, Fazleev was selected by the Hitmen in the first round, 52nd overall, in the 2013 CHL Import Draft.
